RE: MOMUS

Bonneville is the name of the salt flats in Utah where they test cars for speed.

Yes, you are correct. And If memory serves me, there may very well be a connection with the Bonneville Salt Flats and the naming of that model Pontiac.

Nevertheless, the origin of the name Bonneville has it’s roots in the old country. It is actually a Scottish sir name presumably taken from that clan’s ancestral village. In the early 1800s the Salt Flats were named after the explorer with that name.

I purposely used those two Pontiac cars for the obvious difference in aesthetic beauty.

Yes, I understood what you were saying - it's not rocket science.
Maybe you should have made a comparison using the Chevy Neon. Now there's an ugly piece of shit.

I didn't know the name of the SUV was Aztec, but then I hardly know the names, makes or models of any new cars anymore, for precisely the reason you give.
Thanks for the history of the word bonnie.

As far as the Aztec goes, I think it looks a bit more unique than most others, which is probably why I like it. Then again, I like the looks of the Toyota Echo too. ] [/IMG]

Oh, and that's actually me in the picture. My car is the green one, the girlfriend's is the red one. :box:

Technologically impressive - but that is one ugly car. What the hell is with that tombstone-shaped
radiator grill? The new Audis have similarly shaped tall/narrow Ford Edsel-like grills. Me no likey.

I will have to agree with you-this is not the most attractive car to come down the pike. However, the technology that is packed into this machine would make NASA jealous. This car can go from 0-200 MPH faster than the Mclauren F1 can go from 120-200 MPH!!! And the Mclauren F1 has a Formula One engine, so it ain't no slowpoke. The Veryon is not all about speed-though that is a major selling point-handling and braking makes this car impressive too. Gas mileage is not something to brag about here-this car will most definitely pass anything but a gas station. However, this car was not built for economy. I have to say that I would love to drive one of these, but owning one is another matter. Maintainance, property tax and the price of gas makes this car much too expensive for my meager lifestyle. Overall, I am most impressed with this car and its builders. Now let's see Africa or Israel do better. White Power!!!

Unbelievable. As I'm reading the BBC story, I kept thinking that for sure the webpage was a spoof. Looked at the URL - seemed OK. Started clicking on various links - all OK. BBC homepage - OK...
Good God....

Well, I did read a story that said apes were seen using modern tools. Maybe the BBC found them...

I think one of the funniest parts of the entire thing is that they had to hold the helicopter down so it wouldn't fly away...YEA RIGHT! So this "helicopter" had no controls it was simply an engine coupled to a propellor? Wouldn't that then be a toy helicopter, basically a power wheel helicopter that you can't fly. The helicopter will just take you up until it runs out of gas.:D

"Take off for Ugandas OWN helicopter"....LOL! WE FINALLY OWN A HELICOPTER!

.. back when gas was .15 cents a gallon. Real cars ruled the road and no one felt guilty for 'wasting' gas. Ernst Zundel had one very similar to this one.

This car is the world's most expensive production car. At 1. 2 million dollars, it is more expensive than most houses. However, the overall performance of this car is unmatched by any other. One guess as to the ethnicity and race of the people that designed and built it.

Read about this driving machine.

Still got it, apparently. Hopefully we will still be able to appreciate the work of the German 200 years from now.

What we do claim is that the northern European, and particularly Anglo-Saxons made this country. Oh, yes; the others helped. But that is the full statement of the case. They came to this country because it was already made as an Anglo-Saxon commonwealth. They added to it, they often enriched it, but they did not make it, and they have not yet greatly changed it. We are determined that they shall not. (Congressional Record, 4/8/1924, 5922)
